occasional "Rear Lamp Failure" message....
On occasion, about once a month or so, I get the infamous RLF message. And sure enough, the rear lights don't work. This tends to happen after a good long rain. After everything dries out (and the jeep is parked for a day) the message is gone and the rear lights work just fine.
What's the usual culprit for this? I'm sure it's a crappy connection somewhere, but I'm hoping someone has had this happen to them before and figured it out.
Thanks-

I'd start by checking that the tail light housings aren't cracked...if they are that might be letting enough water in to cause a problem. Also check all the bulbs to make sure they are good. After that I'd start tracing the wiring back. I know the module that detects the failure is in the back behind an access panel by the spare tire.
Mine only comes on if I am pulling a trailer...but my lights still work.

Check the cable connector under the rear seat. There is a knockout plug in the floor that may be letting water into the area.
