normal or 0 oil pressure on gauge 99 grand

normal or 0 oil pressure on gauge 99 grand
hey all,
yesterday i had issues with electrical systems dying. took out alternator and had tested good. took out battery and tested bad. replaced battery and put all back in. i was careful to make sure the belt was put back properly. had issues last night with good oil pressure than none, then at light went back up fine immediatelly. this morning i started up fine and made it to work about 18 miles with good pressure. took off for a few about 1/2 hr later and saw i had no oil pressure on the gauge. i pulled over and pulled the oil cap and saw that it had plenty of oil up there. does the gauge go bad or act goofy after battery replacement? i have never had any issues with oil pressure before and find it odd that right after battery replacement i am having this issue. any help would be appreciated. thanks - J
