Default Noises one has to live with!

Grand Cherokee.2000. V8.4.7L. quadra-drive.

Noises!! whining noise from the back ( differentials, etc) clunks and clicks, well according to Jeep mechanics and DC, these are but a few noises owners of a quadra-drive jeep has to get accustomed to and live with you can spend thousands on exotic oils, this and that, these little noises are still there, just to drive you insane.
My huming, whining noise, that is supposed to come from one of the axles, diffs, etc, could just as well come from a faulty componant such as the water-pump, generator, steering-pump or whatever? the sound travels, so its pretty impossible to tell from where its coming.

any thoughts, anybody?

Sometimes you have to just drive it till it breaks. My rear diff (35) is very noisy and I will be pulling a 1500 lb trailer 300 miles this weekend with it. I thought it was the outer axle bearings but replaced those and if anything it is louder. My next best guess is a pinion bearing.

Should be an interesting trip.
