Default No crank 2004 Grand Jeep Cherokee wont start

Have power to the radio and all the inside and outside lights. When I turn the key there is no clicking sound and it wont start, I watched a video where you can start a vehicle with a paper clip in the starter relay switch. and it works But I can't figure out how to fix the damn thing. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed. Thanks for any help that might be tossed my way.

My WJ does this occasionally also. All I have to do is push the shifter slightly forward in Park. If that does not work, try starting in Neutral.

Obviously faulty NSS or circuit to it.

In instead of doing the paper clip deal get a cheap 12 volt test light and ground the clip end of the tester to the starter or frame. And then make contact with the probe end of the tester to the positive lug on the solenoid.

Then have someone try to start the vehicle, if the light comes on the starter or solinod has failed, replaced the starter. If the light doesn't come n let us know.

First and simplest is to determine if it is the NSS or not. NSS = Neutral Safety Switch
