no air flow hot or cold

Thanks to all who contribute to this wonderful site.
I have a 94 zj limited with the 5.2 ltr. It was sitting for a long time. At first the heater worked fine. Charged the a/c and it worked as well. One day the heater or ac wouldn't increase air flow without much playing of the fan knob. I could feel the faintest amount of warm air from the defrost when it doesn't blow hard. One day I tried spanking the underside of the passenger side dash where I heard a rapid tick sound, right after it got a little louder and slowed to a stop. After that I can't get a strong air flow at all. The fuse to the blower motor is good, it has current running to it. I will double check the coolant level. Have yet to flush the heater core. Did drop the glove box with intent to cut a hole to access the blend doors, but could see thru existing hole that it seems to be working fine. Working more on that tomorrow. My questions are does anyone know where the blower fan is on a 94 zj limited with the 5.2? Is their a relay I should investigate, if so which one? And if anyone has input of something I'm not thinking of feel free to chime in.
. thanks.

The blower motor is on the bottom of the heater box and the resistor is right next to it. The resistor controls the fan speeds and is probably toasted. It has a ceramic covering over it and I'll bet some of the ceramic has broken off and jammed the fan.

Thanks, gonna look into that at lunch

Drove it to work instead of the xj, and temp guage only got to 155, so might have a thermostat stuck open, but regardless I should hear the fan. The blend door only moves when tuning the dial fully open or close, and sometimes doesn't. Think a switch panel might be in order too?
