New to owning a Jeep and the forum
I just picked up a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It will not shift out of 1st. Is there anything I can check before replacing the whole tranny? Also Is there any other years that will interchange on transmissons with the 98 GC? Thanks for any inout.

How does the fluid look?
You could try a fluid and filter change, maybe adjust the shift cable
replacement depends on what engine it has
