Depends on alot, are you paying cash, credit any good, trade in, if not paying cash how low do you want your monthly payments. I have purchased 2 new vehicles in the last 3 years, with both vehicles I put down 15 percent and that kept my monthly payment around 300. Alot depends on what you can afford. To answer your question take about 3-4 grand and this way they know you are serious and they might be willing to take a little of the asking price. Dont let the dealership push you around and good luck
