New Coil Pack was JUNK.
 

Well, the old '04 WJ 4.0 was running a little rough, decided it was time for new plugs. I pulled the coil pack and plugs. Plugs were clean, nice and white, but electrodes had worn alot and gap was at .050.
New NGK V-Power's and a new coil pack that I got from RockAuto, Standard Motor Products, part # UF296 and....it's total junk. Two cylinders were dead, Jeep barely ran, had to remove it and reinstall the old coil pack.
Now, with the old coil pack in place, the old girl's running very well again.

Current parts quality is so very very disappointing?
If your a manufacturer making a part, is it any more difficult to make it right?
IMHO parts from across the great sea must be the best parts. They never make any bad parts. They ship everything 100%, no scrap at those factories.

But what are you supposed to do. You go the three parts supply stores and you have three or four brands to choose from. However all those brands come from common source. Are we really only selecting which coloured box we like best?
I'm not claiming to be perfect. I've purchased based only on price point. I deserved what I got. However there is not always a choice of good vs junk brands.

I bought on rockauto, and went with the brand that supposedly is the buyers favorite choice. Thankfully it had a 3 year warranty and rockauto sent me a replacement one (after I paid to ship the junk one back). So, we'll see how it goes. Also, the NGK v-power plugs I put in are coming out, and I'm going back to champions. The old WJ idles like dogcr@p with the NGK's.

Once my 4.0 started to use some oil, Champs became a problem staying clean. I got much better performance from NGK ZFR5Ns.
