Engine: 4.0
Need rear end 99 grand cherokee limited awd
Should I rebuild, get used, or replace some other way. My mechanic tells me the carriers and the pinion bearings need to be done, which means a total rebuild or a used rear end.
My question is whats the best idea and what kind of cost should I be ready for....maybe even have someone rebuild the rear I have, but my tech says he cant measure the pinion bearing seat...or something like that...please any help appreciated its 1999 limited with a 4.7 full time AWD.

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
The cheapest and easiest would be to find a boneyard axle with the same ratio and just swap them.
