I was driving regular when all of a sudden i notice i couldnt go any faster then 30 mph or so without flooring the pedal
and flooring the pedal which at that time was making a loud no tranny fluid type of noise... when i accelerate it just started to seem like i was low on trans fluid.. and being that i do have a trans leak when ever the jeep is off i figured that was it.. so i brought so trans fluid just to top it off with. It made matters worse at first after adding the trans fluid it just drove regular and about 5 or 6 minutes into driving home the thing started doing it again. I pulled over and checked the trans in Nuetral and the level was good.. but after sitting their for about 5 minutes with my car on I shift it into gear and it would budge in R or P no matter how much i rev it... but if i rev it slow it will move in R slowly.. but not drive? please help im stranded

sounds like the pump inside the valve body is going bad or clutch packs plates are worn out

Ditto on the convertor. Same thing happened on my Chevy truck. Mine went while pulling uphill. It just felt like it popped out of gear with a whining sound. After backing down the hill, it would only move a very little at part throttle and not at all at more throttle. On teardown, there was metal and gray mud throughout the entire trans.
