My Jeep’s belt squeaks at at freeway speed
Hello everyone,
Im starting to get a little discouraged with this noise that comes from my Jeep when I am driving at freeway speeds and I take my foot off the accelerator. I have a 2001 Cherokee with the 4.0 straight 6 and it is unmodified. I have tightened the belt, I have replaced the belt, I have replaced the idle pulley. There doesn’t seem to be an wear on this sides of the belt so it doesn’t appear to be rubbing against the sides of any of the pulleys. What makes this so frustrating is that it only occurs when driving at highway speed, where the motor has come up to temp and I take my foot off the gas. Anyone have any ideas of what else it might be? Thanks!
