What to do with my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited bought last week (Pics and Video)
Background:
I don't know anything about cars/jeeps. I went to look at this jeep for $1500 advertised as a ticking noise from a valve. My mechanic said it is a $200 fix and to not say anything to the seller. I was very excited to pay $1500 + $200 fix for a jeep worth $4500 easy.
Aftermath:
Seller included a free tow to my mechanic. He looks under the hood. He says wow, this looks like someone who didn't know what they were doing started taking apart the engine...No AC lines...Vacuum line unplugged...o2 sensors missing...Other plugs hanging with no idea where to plug in...etc.
I just paid to have the bottom half of the motor worked on. Supposedly a new high power oil pump, oil filter, and bearings....Paid $650. It still ticks and I think might be from the lifter, not sure. The jacka$$ backyard mechanic said it might still sound like that for another 20 miles and then go away, YA RIGHT...
Right now I am at $2500 and I don't want a money pit situation. Would have thrown a good engine in there in the first place but they go for $1500 in my area + parts and labor = $2200 more...
What should I do!!! Take to an auction and hope for $1800? Sell privately and ask for $2500 and hopefully get $2000? Pour more money into it hoping to fix ticking noise and then sell for $4500?
Can you guys hear the sound at all from the video (no speakers at this computer)...Thanks for any comments

Yeah, I saw it. My '04 WJ w/the 4.7L V8 was purchased new and has 97,000+ miles on it now w/ no problems.
You have a clean Jeep that you bought for a very low price. You can either fix the issues or make some money by selling it or parting it out.
Sorry but I can't say exactly what is wrong with it.
