Must be close for Keyless to work...

Hello all. Recently I must be very close to my Jeep for the Keyless to work. It also seems that I must be on either side of teh vehicle and it doesn't work very well directly behind the Jeep, even if I'm very close to it?

I changed teh batteries about three months ago but didn't seem to get any better.

Any Ideas besides the batteries? Possibly a receiver problem?

Thanks

Yeah mine is just like that. I never really went to try and fix it. Maybe it is just getting old idk. It is just un locking the jeep so i did not think it was that big of a deal, more to worry about haha

would be nice if it worked..

I carry couple bags and a lunch container and random stuff with me all the time and I'm so used to it now that I need it to work. Plus the 2004 Grand Cherokee only has ONE KEYED entry on the drivers side. Kind of a pain.

any guesses as to how I could fix it?

Thanks

The rke module on the jeep is located in the pass door module (door lock switch) there is a external wire (ant) on the inside of the panel. usually the module is faulty.
hope this helps
