Moog CV Boot kit
I'm replacing a split CV boot. The Moog CV boot kit came with two bands, cotter pin and two additional pieces There are no instructions how to tighten the bands and what to do with the other two pieces.
The bands that came with the Moog kit I'm uncertain if I'm suppose to pull them tight with pliers or require a special tool?
I'm not certain what to do with the two additional smaller pieces.

Some pics I took of of the kit.

those appear to be the clip that holds the axle into your diff (the smaller thinner one)
and the clip that holds your cv to the shaft(the heaver thicker one)
you do not have to replace either of them if you just need the boot but they supply them in case you loose or damage your old ones

I've read some Dana 30's have a clip that can be removed and also read it's only use is by the manufacture to hold things together during assembly.
When I removed the drivers side CV axle I didn't see any clips, the axle just slid out and then slid back in. there were no clips involved.

Old fart with a wrench
This is a universal kit designed to fit many different joints. The large snap ring is to retain the joint on the axle stub. Yours would be inside. The smaller snap ring is for FWD vehicles where the inner CV joint slips into the transmission. In other words, put them in your parts drawer.
