Missfiring

I have a 1994 grand Cherokee Laredo 6 cylinder 4.0 liter. I can start it up and drive it but when I turn it off and try to restart it, the jeep will shake real bad (possibly misfiring) I will push on the accelerater the car will slowly move and starts to make a piping noise then the rpm will jump up and it will quit popping and works normally It does this every time I drive. Any suggestions -Thanks Ryan

Might be a simple thing to ask but, do you have a check engine light on? Did you check for any codes?

Ryan.pettit 06-08-2011 06:40 AM

It didn't have any codes and the check engine light is not on

could be a injector leaking a little, vehical has to run for a few min to clean up the unburnt fuel

if he has an injector problem.. maybe he too should try some seafoam in the fuel tank?

Ryan.pettit 06-11-2011 02:54 PM

It ended up being the fuel pump

Thanks for the suggestions and help.
