I have a 2004 jeep grand Cherokee. 4.0L I got in it to drive to work and the check eng light came on. Shortly after it came on it started flashing at me. I work on vehicles a lot so I had a code reader with me. (Shade tree mind you) the eng started running ruff. The code it gave me was 305 number 5 cylinder open circuit and 5 cylinder misfire. So far I have changed the plugs, coil cap assembly. I also pulled the fuel rail plenty of pressure, and replaced the number 5 injector. After that the truck runs fine for intermittently the back misfiring. I also noticed that when I let it miss for 4 min while if examined it I had fuel pouring out my tail pipe? Any Ideas?

Sounds like you're not getting any spark. Is there voltage going to that coil?

check for spark, if fuel is POURING out of the exhaust I would say stuck injector, even though u just replaced. Start vehical and put a long screwdriver on injector, if it is firing u will here it ticking. last but not least, check compression on that cylinder.
