Low Beam Headlight

How do I change the low beam headlight on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited?

Low Beam Headlight

Thanks Dave. Plenty of great info but not what I'm specifically looking for. I'm sure it will come in handy in the future.
Thanks again!

Check the section on removing the front fascia. You have to do that to access the headlights.

Do you have to remove the engine to change the oil?

Firestorm don't give them ideas on how to make things harder lol.Half the new cars on the road don't even use a trans dipstick anymore.

My wife's cobalt has a sealed trans and I hate it. Sealed radiator too

Ya know what's amusing? They tell you mercury is toxic and they are even trying to recall mercury medical thermometers, yet we still use mercury vapor street lighting, CFL light bulbs in our homes with mercury in them, and HID headlights have it in them as well. WTF? Smash up the front of your car and die from mercury poisoning? It makes no sense.

Firestorm500 12-10-2015 09:57 AM

In the case of the mercury thermometers, they are worried about proximate direct ingestion if one breaks in your mouth.

The other stuff is more or less released into the air, so the concentration isn't as great.

Well, I'm going to tell you how toxic mercury is to handle. Not injest, I'm not going there. In 8th grade science class (1957), we had Science Club meetings after school and did some weird stuff before the class advisor got off bus duty and came into the room. We used to take shiny pennies and rub them with mercury with our fingers to make them look like dimes! Most of the time they would fool the clerk in the candy store!

In later years, I was tested for mercury and my blood level was so low they couldn't find it with the tests they had then. That was the Navy medical for active service.

Mercury vapor gets absorbed by the blood quickly in the lungs. If I change my headlights, I'm going to LED.

Headlight bulb

I only want to replace the low beam headlight bulb. Gotta be a way to do that without removing the front of the car.

Maybe not. Check your owner's manual.

That info I told you I got from wk2jeeps.com

Welcome to working on a new car/suv things take forever to do what we would think is a simple job.

I had a friend with a new VW Beetle tell me they had to take off his fender to replace a headlight!
