looking at a zj, anything different?
so today im goin to look at a zj for my mom. i told her to get a jeep and she said she wants a 6cyl zj. so were goin to look at one today. my queastion is there anything mainly different from my xj? problem areas? i know the engine pretty well main rust spots on the xj stuff like that from my years on working on my rig but never have touched a zj. any main things i should look for in a zj?

What year? Check the CV joints if it has them, bushings and the like, especially on the axle ends of the control arms. Other then that I can't think of much, it's a toss up on how many of the electrical bits will still be working. You already have the engine covered, the rust would in most of the same spots as the XJ.

NP and a word of advice from a mechanic ive been friends with for years when ever he buys a ZJ if the tranny is shifting good he always replaces the check valve in the tranny
