Lifting a ZJ

Hey guys,

My little brother wants to lift his 1995 ZJ. He was looking at a 4" Rough Country lift. Other than getting a new stearing stabalizer, is there anything we should need to worry about? Im not to familiar with Grand Cherokee's. What about slip yoke eliminators and stuff like that? Any kind of input would be awesome.

Thanks

Also I was wondering what anyone thought about the 3.5" set up from Rocky-Road?

I f you go with rocky road, make sure and compare his shipping prices with another vendor. He profits quite well on his shipping. last winter I wanted use use a set of his shackles on my YJ build up and he wanted $84.00 for shipping to vermont. I questioned him about it and because I really wanted to use them but he would not budge. I do quite a bit of business selling used jeep cj parts on ebay and know that it does not cost $84.00 to ship 4 shackles accross country. A guy I work with bought a kit to install YJ springs on his samurai from rocky road and he charged him over $300.00 dollars to ship 2 boxes!
Just keep in mind before you shop with him he is a crook who profits off shipping charges.

You do not need to get a slip yoke eliminator. You can just drop the t-case. Not as good as the SYE but dose the job and a lot cheeper. Other then brake lines there is nothing much more that u need to get. Could get a rear adjustable trackbar but that is not really needed.

If he plans on doing some hard core offroading then make sure you get a "flex" kit. Not all lift kits are for wheeling. The way to tell is the pivot ends. Check out sites like Rusty's Offroad and Rubicon Express. From what I've seen MOST companies offer many different kits and some of the same height will have a little cost difference and look the same... unless you know what to look for.

Do your research!
