Question Left turn popping sound

Ok, another quick question. Not a big deal.

I took it to the shop about a month ago, had the front differential replaced. Set me back $2300 with extra crap they had to do. UGH.

Anyway, I mentioned to the dealership about the faint popping sound coming from the left side when you turn left. I figured it was the CV joint, considering I have replaced quite a few of them and know what it sounds like.

Well they said that the joints and all were fine and that nothing was wrong. But it still does it. Anyone have any other suggestions on what to check?

Check the ball joints. When were they greased last? I noticed on our '04 that they had not been getting grease into the uppers, it was just squirting on the outside of the zerk fitting. I took a nail and cleaned the zerk's opening and greased them myself. I was suprised how much grease they held. JMO

Thanks ol blue, you rock! I will check it out this weekend. We are leaving on Sunday for the beach and I just want to make sure everything is ok. I love my Jeep and would hate to have something happen to it. Thanks again.

i remember when you posted before,so the $2300 was to fix that other problem and now this is a new problem?....anyway,if it's not your CV's popping i would check the track bar bushings next, very common issue with these jeeps.

BTW, what in the world did they do that cost$2300??

Well they replaced the front differential and the barrings/bushings, crap like that. This problem was before they did anything, just didnt see anything wrong. Im thinking that ol blue is on too something, ive never greased anything . I am not sure. My hubby is going to check it out this week.

I guess I'm getting old and lazy, but on both Jeeps and the Saturn I get coupons from my dealer for oil & filter change and a grease job w/ drivetrain inspection for $24.99. They're always fast and courteous, so I have always had them do the service since we bought the '04 new.
