Twice, between yesterday and today my Jeep has shut completely off why parking it, both times when I was going in reverse. I went back to Dealer So I could get some advice or information, they said U have to leave it and they wouldn't be able to see it until Tuesday of next week.

Until that time I have another concern on my head. My question is, what could be causing this? Is it something I should really be concerned about? What I mean Can it wait it out or do I need to take it to a Mechanic right away? I spoke to someone they mentioned maybe the transmission or the gas pump? What do ya think? By the way, it's a 2005 Jeep Cherokee Lauredo with about 67,000 miles on it.

checking for codes would be the first thing to do

Ok Thanx buddy.. Ummmm Im brand new to this.. What does check for codes actually mean? And can I do this myself? Or does a mechanic do this? In other words how do I go about this?

got a auto zone near they will scan the computer for codes for free,codes are thing wrong with certain computer controled parts of the vechicle
