jeep grand cherokee idle problem!!!!!!

Default jeep grand cherokee idle problem!!!!!!



Ok so my problem is with my brothers 1993 Cherokee when ever you back up slowly it turns off it also does it sometimes when your pulling forward really slow i notice that the bare steel looking cable in the picture above it loose it goes into a canister looking thing could that be the problem and if so how do you adjust it thanx

There is no adjustment, there is an actuator on the throttle body called the Idle Air Control motor, replace that and the problem will be solved.

Also, that bare metal cable is the throttle cable for the tranny. Slight slack is fine.
