iPod/MP3 hookup on 04 Limited
Is it possiblt to plug a 3.5mm cable into the back of the OEM headunit? I know with some OEm radios, you can utilize the cd changer input. The cable would have the 3.5mm(headphone jack) Male end and on the other side it would plug into the cd changer input on the back of the radio.
If this is not available, is there any other way, other than using a tape adapter or fm modulator?

Install a stereo that has a port for auxillary? Thats what I have in my WJ. Fits USB, Aux and its bluetooth. You could probably find one online or from a pawn shop for less than 50 bucks.

You can't tap into the stock stereo with your ipod, you either use one of those crappy cig lighter tuner things or install an aftermarket head unit that has the aux ports.

Yeah its pretty expensive but it works fantastic.
all you do is pull out the factory radio and unplug the cable for the 10 disc CD changer (if you have one) and plug the cable that comes with the kit into that port. fit evrything back together and you can control the ipod with your radio controls and steering wheel controls

That is exactly what I was talking about in my original post. Thanks bro. My gf wants to retain the oem radio in this one. All our other cars have aftermarket radios though.
How can I yell if it has the infinity system? It's got tweets in the dash and a cd/tape deck. I don't see anything that says infinity though.
While I'm on the topic; how do I remove that forward most section of dashboard, where the tweets are. The pass side crackled randomly. Think I need to replace it.

if it is a Limited im pretty sure it has Infinity Gold. I have an 2004 Overland and it has Infinty Gold. To get the radio out you have to pop out the wood panel around the radio with something thin, i think i used a credit card. It may not be stong enough so you may need something stiffer. I dont know how to get to the tweeters though, search around on the internet, i think there is a youtube video about installing tweeters
