Intermittent valve tap
On my 93 4.0 I have the strangest valve tap. It will literally tap, tap, tap for a few minutes while idling, then go away, and start again?. The process will come and go....have any of you seen this?

Sure its the lifters? It may be the evap emissions canister purge solenoid. It sounds just like lifter tap and it comes and goes as the solenoid clicks when its working.
