Default infinity sound system help

So i have a 94 grand cherokee limited. it seems like the amp might be going out on me. the speakers wont start working until i have been driving for about 6-7 minutes, then they start working fine. they might go in and out once or twice but then they work fine after that. i dont know if the amp is slowly failing or what. it seems like it has gotten worse. meaning it takes longer for the speakers to start working. i have subs in the back on a separate amp and those work fine. i dont know anything about the infinity amp so let me know if you have had similar problems and if there is a quick fix thanks guys

Are you running the factory radio or aftermarket?

The factory radio seems to have a problem with turning on and off by itself. I have that problem. Today it turned on and off several times. It is not a power issue nor a vibration issue nor a wiring issue nor an antenna issue. It seems to be internal to the radio. I have not had time to remove radio and look inside. Someone posted some info that the problem is in the FM turner.

When my radio goes out, it is getting power and is on but I get a static sound out of the speakers. When it is working it works great.

Yes. I have been thinking of making a change in radio. This radio issue really bothers me. I will look inside one day to check it out.

Thanks for the advice. Probably best to replace.

Use a dvom (digital volt and ohlms meter) to check for excess resistance in the wires could be a quick simple fix

Don't the tweeters run off of the deck while the door speakers run off of the amp? I replaced my door speakers last year and I seem to remember the tweets still working when I had the amp disconnected but I can't say for 100% sure. If your secondary amp is working correctly I wouldn't be too sure it's the deck itself, that amp powers on/off with the deck in the dash I presume? Easy enough to check just unplug the speakers from the amp. The "infinity gold" sound system is kind of weak for what it looks like it cost on the original sticker, it sounds good but I'm sure the distortion rating for the amp is pretty high.

my radio unit is fine like i said. its brand new. my problem is pretty much narrowed down to the infinity amp. its weird tho because its like it needs to "warm up" before it starts to work. when i turn my jeep off and let it sit for say 30 min, i can start my jeep and the speakers will work right away if not in less than a minute usually as if it is still warmed up
