Like many of you I live where I do not even need to take the key out never mind lock my vehicle. SO! having to lock my Jeep then unlock it, just to start it, is becoming somewhat of pest. Does anyone know how to get round this?

Once upon a time, I put a toggle switch hidden up under the dash. I wired it in between the key switch and the starter motor. That way you had to flip it on to crank. My key was broken off in the switch was the reason I did it.

Or if you have an auto transmission (probably not in Scotland ) you could leave it in reverse with the parking brake on so it won't crank. I spent an hour once trying to figure out why mine wouldn't start when I didn't shift all the way into park.
