I need a xfer case guru!!!
I've pulled my xfer case because the VC is bad. I removed the inspection plate on the tail housing that allows access to the snap ring. The snap ring is broken such that I pulled one of the tabs and about 1/4" of the radius right out of the groove so there is no way I can spread it to get it over the bearing.
Any Ideas?????

I was able to get the remainder of the snapring out with a pair of long nose vicegrips by clamping on and dragging the snap ring around the groove. The metal of the snap ring was soft enough to bend so I could bend it up and pull it through the inspection hole as I drug it around the bearing. Lucky on that one!!!
Is that snap ring there to keep the bearing from spinning in the houseing? Thats all I can see it will do.
Anyone know where I can order that snap ring online?
