I have a question
I need to replace the tranny in my daughter's 98 GC Laredo. I found one from a 98 GC Sport. Same engine...will this one work??? How do I find out if it is a "42RE" which is what I'm told I need. Thanks!!

I would think if it's the same engine and around the same year range it should work. I moved this to the GC area so maybe you will get some more response..

It should work. I really dont think there is a difference besides looks. if it same motor and everything it should work. T-case should not effect you getting a tranny. t-cases can be swapped if you wanted to. but I would keep the one you got.
