hydraulic fan doesnt work
Hi guys now I had a problem with the Fan but with no OBD2 codes no check engine light the hydraulic fan doesn't rotate,I changed the power steering pump I thought it was the only one bad part.I make this test remove the ECT sensor the fan run very good like a jet,but when it connected with ECU the fan doesn't work in both cases hot and clod or on idle ,what to check their could it be a bad clogged hose or something blocked or a different rubber size hose because from two-week ago I repaired a leak on the return high pressure hose from fan to the steering box, the technician squeeze a new rubber part to this hose. thanks advance for any help advice

Yeah, it was the worst idea Mopar ever came up with! Some guys replaced it with an electric fan system but had problems with setting trouble codes. Nobody's come back with a solution yet that I'm aware of.

This doesn't solve your problem, though. If the fan runs when the PCM connector is unplugged, the problem is with the solenoid valve. That must be designed as a fail-safe so the engine doesn't overheat. (I'm just running this thru my brain as we speak) You have power to the solenoid because it doesn't run when connected but does when it isn't. Check and clean the connector at the PCM. Apparently, the PCM signal isn't getting thru. See if there is a relay in the circuit. That could be the problem. On electric fans, there is a relay mounted underneath the passengers headlight housing and it's a PITA to get to. IDK about yours.

I still think your problem is electrical. The PCM may not be getting a temp signal to turn the fan on or the PCM itself is the problem. The best approach is to have a qualified service tech look at it, as in stealership. You have pressure because the fan runs and there aren't any leaks anymore. You may just need to have the PCM "flashed" as in reset. IDK.
