Have a 96 grand 4.0 with selectrac. Should I put lockers in it or upgraqde to a 99-04 with Quadradrive with factory limited slip in Diffs. but not lock in 4 Hi. Can I swap axles from a quadradrive in to my 96 ?. Can I go to the Quadradrive with Elec. lockers and swap carries/ gears in to my axles?
Trying to improve without breaking the bank.

Welcome to CF!

First of all, you can't put later axles in your ZJ because the WJ axles are wider and use different wheel stud patterns, plus the control arm brackets are different and the spring pockets are out farther.

About the best you can get is install a lunchbox locker in the rear dif and run with that. Anything else is a waste of time and money unless you're building a trail rig and not a DD.

Well there is that, but I think what you want is Quadradrive II which has the automatic lockers in the axles. What are you planning to do with this ride? I think a properly prepared ZJ with a locker in the rear would handle just about anything but Moab, and probably better than a WJ.
