Default How do I bleed a 2004 JGC?

I need to bleed the cooling system because there's air in it. (keeps overheating)

Would I need to bleed the radiator through the "bleeding valve"

or

Do I bleed the system by just taking off the radiator cap?

I'm a Rookie & don't know how to do both..Thanks!

The 4.7L V8 has a bleed plug in the casting where the upper rad. hose connects to the engine. Remove the plug and slowly fill the rad with coolant until it flows from the bleed hole then replace the plug. Fill rad, replace cap, and fill reservoir to the FULL mark.

While the engine is cool, and has no pressure, you can remove the rad. cap and loosen the plug until any trapped air comes out followed by coolant. Then replace/tighten plug, top off rad and replace cap. Check coolant reservoir for correct level.

OK I see that you V8 guys have the easy life of a bleed screw, so what about the straight 6 guys! I see that I need to stop start 3 times and everything will be okay!! but I don't trust it. Any suggestions?

Thanks
