HELP! Sheered Lug Nut Studs
So I tried taking my ZJ in last night to have the half shaft replaced and it started wobbling really bad so I parked it and decided to look at it this morning when I could see. I went out and this is what I found... Any idea how this could have happened?

I use to bash the tire shops also, untill I installed new lug studs & I wrung them off with a 4 way lug wrench.
Blame Chrysler for going with the cheapest studs they could find.
I will get chromoly studs, one day.
I've learned that they do NOT like to have ANY angled torque applied to them.IE,lug wrench, socket & ratchet.
Get a air/electric impact gun.The studs will thank you.

Old fart with a wrench
Best to use an electric impact and check with a torque wrench.
Horror story; My wife had 4 tires mounted on her Dodge at Sears, went about 50 miles and had all 4 tires wobbling. They didn't torque them enough, because they were afraid of breaking them. Both extremes are not good.

Thanks for all the help guys, I am thinking that the lugs were really loose when I went wheeling the other day and backed themselves off causing the studs to snap off. Luckily I was able to drive it home the next day before I noticed any issues. I got new studs put in yesterday so now time to tackle the CV joint and half shaft...
