Help Please
 

Hi All is this normal?:pinch:
I have a Grand Cherokee 1998 constant 4WD with 140K on the clock.
This is my first Jeep and when on full lock turning left or right the car seems reluctant to move forward slowly except by lurching it is impossible to get the car moving forward at a slow constant speed without it seeming to crab, is this normal?.
What should I be checking and how should I check it?

Any thoughts would really help.

Sounds like the VC in the transfer case is going on it. You can remedy this by either replacing the VC or replacing the transfer case. If replacing the transfer case now is a good time to find yourself an NP242 or NP231 and have selectable 2 wheel drive!

OK thanks....
But how difficult is it to drop the transfer case and replace the Viscous Coupling.
Haynes manual says take it to a specialist because of tools required.
