HELP. jeep goes up and down?
Okay so 1995 grand Cherokee limited. It started acting strange after I lifted it 4" and did a tcase swap. When I get it and put it in reverse the whole jeep body sucks down about 2 inches. Then I'll put it into drive and the body lifts about 3 inches. And I took it down the block and it feels bound or restricted....I cannot figure it out. Anyone heard of this?

We need more info. What did you do with the control arms and track bars? Extended shocks? Does your rear driveshaft have a slip yoke or flange mount? Are you running AWD or the 2WD/4WD case?

New control arms came with kit, Track Bars Got Drop Mounts FOR To Make Up For lifting, New Bigger shocks. Rear drive shaft has slip yoke. 231 transfer case just had professionally built. I took the front shaft off to see if that was an issue....no dice.

Did the kit come with rear arms? Did you tighten all of the control arm bolts with the tires on the ground? What brand is the lift kit?

Yes rear arms came with it. It was a rough country kit. Tires where off the jeep to get all the springs out. It's weird like it feels like it's in the transmission? IVery never seen or felt anything like it. Put in reverse and it just suckes the body down.

Good catch, Busted. I was thinking I've seen this when the driveshaft was bottomed on the trans splines. Not the reverse bit, but when you torque it up forward, it twists the diff forcing the driveshaft forward thus lifting the trans.
