Help: Dying Out
I recently acquired a 1994 grand cherokee laredo I'm going to fix up and it will start fine but every now and then it just randomly dies. I was told by a local mechanic to check the crankshaft sensor so i replaced it but it still dies out unexpectedly while driving. Any advice on what to check?

stalling issue
I had same stalling problems and read a thread about possible fix by an airline mechanic in Texas . You have to locate your PCM ( car computer ) between the coolant reservoir and firewall on passenger side .Remove coolant reservoir , 3 screws and elctronic sensorplug on top . Looking on the frontside lower part of the pcm you will see a set of three cable connectors , black / white / grey , plugged into the pcm . One inch under the outside plugs locate 2 screws that need to come out because they can cause this stalling problem sticking too deep pressuring into pcm board inside . Shorten these 2 screws to 1/2 inch and screw back in . Shortening of these 2 screws fixed my stalling problem and hopefully yours at no cost . Good luck .

sounds like a stretch indeed but worth the try at no cost , it worked for my 96 Jeep Cherokee V6 . Only one way to find out....shorten 2 screws to 1/2 inch and hopefully will fix your trouble too . rgds

Could have a pick up coil problem. They tend to act up when the engine gets hot, once it cools down it will run again.

I just rechecked www.forums.cnet.com and searched "Jeep grand Cherokee stalling fixed " And yes its a year ago for my fix and the 2 screws must be 1/4 inch long before you put them back , not 1/2 inch as I mentioned . You can do it in 10 minutes , good luck and read the thread I gave you too . Rgds

Automatic Shut Off Relay
My car is fixed. It was the Automatic shut-off relay located in the fuse box under the hood. Congrats to the Mech at 76 station on Sawtelle and Santa Monica !!!
