HELP with CB radio

Model: Grand Cherokee

HELP with CB radio
I am at a loss. I have tried wiring directly to battery and I also had it connected to the cig. light plug in. I am having trouble communicating with any one or hearing anyone. The radio is a new Cobra 19 series 2.I am not postive on number. with a 36 inch Radio Shack antenna.

you need to match your antenna. you need to find someone with an swr meter.
there should be a small screw or allen screw on the antenna base. loosen that and slide the antenna up or down to get a close match of 1:1.
that's providing you're getting good power and ground.

The mic is new and the antenna is grounded to the body right behind the rr wheel well. I will look at the mic a little closer and also check the allen screw if it has one or not.honestly didnt pay any attention to see if it does..
