No gauge cluster/ start

Hey guys i have a 97 jgc zj 4x4 4.ol and yesterday i was driving and my jeep shut off on me and i went to start it back up and it cranks but doesnt start. My low fuel light stays on even though i have a full tank and i have no gauge cluster responding at all and the fuel pump keeps priming. Any idea what it could be?? Cps, ecm, bad connection behind gauge cluster what. Help asap would be great thanks.
Brandon

if don't know a whole lot about ZJs but,the fact that it randomly cut off and cranks but won't start points toward the CPS (crankshaft position sensor). Not sure about the other stuff tho.

IDK about the ZJ gauges, but in the WJ, all the information displayed on the dash gauges comes from the PCM. I would look for a power interruption to or from the PCM. Make sure the 3 plugs going into it are tight and not corroded. You may also have a crack in the solder of the terminal strip inside the PCM that feeds the power supply.

It could be something as simple as a bad connection of the red wire that feeds the PDC (Power Distribution Center)(fuse/relay box under the hood). Even low voltage can cause some weird stuff.

I have seen CKP sensors fail in such a way that it shorts to ground and when the ECM sees this it causes all sorts of problems, such as not being able to communicate using a scanner, and a NO BUS message in the odometer reading. A quick way to verify this is to simply unplug the sensor and see if everything else returns to normal, if it does you will need to replace the sensor.

Either way you to need to scan The ecm and see if there are any faults.
