"header panel"
My 98 zj has a minor wreck in the front. The grill was broken and the plastic piece that the grill mounts to called the "header panel"...as I was doing research I found places that say 96-98 only....do the older grand Cherokees have this same piece or was it modified later on? Also i noticed in the junk yard that there are 2 triangular bars that mount to the bumper any idea of the name of these pieces?

The 96-98 is different from the 93-95 models, the grille in the 96-98 models dips into the bumper instead of staying even with the bottom of the headlamps like the 93-95s.
www.rockauto.com will have the header panel, but pay close attention to the shipping cost.

A common upgrade people do with the 93-95s is put the 96-98 header panel on and switch to the newer style bumper and grille. You can also put the 93-95 header panel on the 96-98s if you want to give it the older look. You just need the bumper cover and grille and header panel.

So im just curious..is there anything keeping me from getting a 93-95 and modifying it to just at least fit a 96-98 grill? At this point all I have is a grill.lol
