Grand Cherokee has no memory
I recently bought a 1997 grand Cherokee with the 5.2l for my girlfriend. And it it has no memory. You set your mirrors to where you want them and they reset after you turn the car off. Same thing with the radio, seats, and the screen below that tells you the date and stuff. Not to sure what it is. Any help is highly appreciated!

The radio has a chip in it that controls the memory for the driver's seat, side view mirrors, and radio presets, steering wheel radio remote controls, the info center's clock and date in the lower part of the dash, etc., and that may have gone bad... you'd need to look into replacing the radio.
Before doing that, check your Power Draw relay in the engine compartment and make sure it's not bad. If it is, replace it (or just replace it anyway), and then if that doesn't work, it may be your radio that has a bad chip in it. |
Ya I just went a head and replaced the stereo anyways andand still nothing.

You might want to try and get a factory radio that has the tape and CD players and see if that works... as mentioned, the circuitry for the memory package is within the factory radio itself, even the clock memory for the info center in the lower part of the dash. I replaced the factory radio in my old '94 ZJ and every time I started it up the time and date were reset on the info center.
