That automatic door locking feature is programmable in the overhead console. That still doesn't change the window problem however.

Well I'm stumped

I have a 98 ZJ with a blown up 4.0 that I bought off my boss for $200. I had a spare 4.0 sitting in the garage that I figured I ll use.

I yanked the old engine out and shoved the spare in.

Used the ZJ dizzy on it.

Doesn't matter what I did, it wouldn't fire up. Fuel pressure is at 47 lbs

New coil, new Cps, the timing chain was worn out so I replaced that.

I even tried to unlock using the key fob and manually unlock every door several times.

I even saw the tip about splicing into the purple wire with yellow tracer and ground it.

I tried playing with the dizzy. Setting it at TDC and all, moving it one tooth back and forward, revolving the base to see it anything catches.

Ugh. Any other things I'm missing?

Is it possible that the stator in that distributor is bad?

Did you get this fixed Neal?

"I even tried to unlock using the key fob and manually unlock every door several times."

I ran across this in my travels... Don't know if it applies to your year or not though.

How to reset the security system...

Open the driver's side door. Close the other doors.

Press the power door-lock switch on the keyless entry fob.

Close the driver's side door.

Leave all doors closed for about 16 seconds until the Vehicle Security Light on the instrument cluster stops flashing quickly.

When the light flashes at a slower rate, this signifies that the system has been reset and rearmed.

Everything still stock or are you running accessories (aux lights, winch, amplifiers)?

Cheapest battery at AutoZone (just for example's sake) is 690 CCA and 860 CA with a 1 yr warranty for 100 bucks. All really just depends on what you're looking to spend on a battery. If you have a couple hundred bucks, go with an Interstate or Sears DieHard.

Default 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo AC issues

We have had trouble getting my jeep to run the a.c. right. Whenever we put on the gas we can hear a flap and the vents will stop working and shift to the defroster. When I let off the gas, it will switch back. We checked all the vacum lines, but we found that the vacum line under the battery box keeps coming undone. It's like it's got some kind of back flow or pressure knocking it off. The short time we got the line to stay on, the air seemed to run just fine. Any suggestions on what's happening and/or how-to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Vacuum hose may have a split on the end. Can cut off 1/2 inch and reconnect. Somewhat common due to engine heat and age. Check that first.

Try adjusting the throttle valve cable. Should be right next to the throttle cable on the throttle body cable detent.

Default NAG1 transmission

230000 miles on 05 GC and engine light came on. codes pulled indicate temperature sensor in Nag1 transmission.
Check engine light came on when washed undercarriage but its been going into limp in mode (intermittently) when driven on highway at highway speed.
Where is this temperature sensor? self correcting electrical issue...?
