When I bought my 2000 WJ, the previous owner had a remote start system installed already. I know just enough electronics to be dangerous! I've heard horror stories about these systems and how some don't play well with standard security systems, so I wanted to remove it. I crawled under the dash and saw the unit had about 30 wires coming out of it and disappearing into the harnesses. Nope! It stays. I pulled the 2 10amp fuses powering it and took the batteries out of the remotes.
My 2000 is not as complex as your 2018, but if you think you can handle it, go for it! I have a fear of having something go wrong and being left stranded with not a clue to fixing it.

I am more than capable of installing the required parts. It is basically a plug and play system, except for hood latch. I am a decent mechanic, just not aware if the software for programming the remote start system is available for anyone besides Mopar Techs. If it is, where do I find it?

Anyone ever fight high idle issue with a 4.7? My 01 4.7 Laredo with 176k on it decided yesterday that it was going to have a searching high idle from 650-2500, and back down and up...Only in park, in gear it hangs about 900. I checked vacuum lines, didn't find any that were loose, leaking, or missing. Im thinking its the tps, but not entirely sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Anything's possible with enough cash, but why would you want to do that?
First of all the 4.7 balances differently so the motor mounts need to be moved farther back. IDK if it will even fit. Then you'll need the transmission and entire driveline from a 99 or newer jeep, not to even start with the electronics.
The 4.7 is not the most reliable engine either. It is prone to warped heads and blown head gaskets, dropped valve seats, and jumped timing chains. In my opinion you need to rethink your project for something better.

What size u joint are needed on the front and rear driveshaft for the 1995 ZJ? I do not have the CV joint up front if that helps.

I'm wanting to replace my 2002 WJ Teves calipers with Akebono calipers.. Can I do this as a direct swap or does it require any modifications?

Been there, done it! It only involves changing the front calipers and caliper brackets. The rear brakes remain Teves. I bought mine from rockauto.com and returned the Teves as cores. Other than changing the core's value, they never questioned it. If you buy fully loaded calipers, you get the brackets with them. DON'T BUY POWERSTOP!! One of the calipers was defective right out of the box! Rockauto spent me a replacement overnight though.
I know where you're coming from. I wasted lots of money for 3 years trying to get the Teves to work right, then swapped to Akebono and haven't had ANY brake problems since. I take that back. Don't use ceramic pads. Stick with semi-metallic. Now would be a good time to replace the hoses.

Ok, question for folks regarding obdii scanners. Which ones (non drbIII) will pull abs codes? My little ELM wifi module wont and its the only light on my dash....Its starting to bug me as I have taken care of all the rest of its issues. Its not fuses as I just checked them all. I tried the turn the key on 3 times but I guess thats only for power train codes. Thanks in advance as I need to order one asap but dont want to spend the money and just have to send it back as it didnt do what i needed it to.

Y-Pipe Hanger location??
Hey guys, I'm new here and had a question about my 02 WJ. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find where the factory front pipe hanger that holds the y pipe up is suppose to go.. I just got a new one in today, the trans was replaced and they never put the hanger back. I'm putting a new exhaust from manifold back and would like to know where this mount bolts. Thank you.

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure it bolts under the trans mount or to it. There should be a pin welded to the pipe that slides into a tube with rubber inside it.
