Grand cherokee ´99/´00 starting trouble?
Hi there I was wondering if anyone in here can help me solve my jeep 4.7 ´99-´00 problem,
when the engine is cold and I start it up I need to be starting for like 10-15 sek. and it always starts up but takes all this time and when it fires up it smell a bit of gas, it runs good and good power and if I shut it off it starts normally but if I let it stand for maybe 20 mins it will take this 10-15 sek. to start it up...
if I´m letting it run and walk behind I can hear a little bangs in the exhaust,
the engine light is not on and the dealer here in iceland and few carage I went to just shake the heads and don´t have a clue.
Hope you guys understand my writing hehe my english is a little rusty

As I was told, this problem has something to do with a seal in the fuel pump.
It allows the fuel to "drain-back"
A neat little trick: Turn IGN on (just to light the lights up on dash) wait until Odometer lights, turn off. Count to two turn it back on (odometer lights up. Then turn it back off then back on.. Odometer should display "done", it will fire right up after that.
It doesn't fix the problem, but does keep you from cranking forever.
