My Dad has a 94 model that the previous owner put a 95 motor in it, it is a V-8. It will run sometimes for a few days and quit and sometimes it will run for 10 min, just curious if anyone might have some info on why this may be happening? thanks Jeremi

going to need more info about whats its doing. when it quits do you check fuel pressure or for spark?

It seems that everything is intermentant, it has absolutlly dumbfounded us we have put spark testers on it fuel presure gauges and it has a brand new fuel pump and a brand new computer on it. fuel preasure is good and spark is good until it dies, then we can't get anything from anything for a period of time some times 15-20 trys starting to weeks of trying to start it. The previous owner said the only difference between the 94 and 95 harnesses is a ground wire that is on the 95 motor harness that is not on the 94 harness. So we ran a ground from the 95 harness directlly to the battery and seemed to fix it for a few days but then right back to doing what it started doing.

Could be a pickup coil problem, or even the crank sensor if you have no spark. You need to check for power and a pulsing ground at the primary side of the ignition coil. If you have no voltage, you need to find the open in the circuit. if there is no pulsing ground, you have either a pickup coil or crank sensor problem. Not a bad idea to replace both of them if you suspect one or the other.

Ok so we seem to have got it running so far today, we believe that is has something to do with the auto shutdown in the wiring harness around the computer. We drove it around for a little while today and it never did completlly shut off, but driving down the road there was a couple of times that it acted like it was gonna shut down but it would back fire and kick right back in and run. It almost acts like when you get to a certain high speed in a vehicle like 98 or 102 and it shuts down till it comes back down to like 95 mph. The odd thing is that when it kicks or shuts down the rpm's don't move?? Any ideas?

From what you are saying it sounds like me and you HAD the same exact prob...

Is the computer "new" or refrub???
