hi guys
i have grand cherokee orvis 4lt auto 1997. and the car goes forward but there is no reverse i thying it needs a gear box.what i want to know is how can i get second hand gear box and are they same from 1992 model to 1999 or are they different
please help me

First off welcome.

Now just reading into your post are you in the US or where are you? I ask cause it will make alot of difference do to the Jeeps having some differences around the world.

And ya from what you are saying you will need to replace the Transmission.

i am in london united kingdom (england) i am trying to find similar one (mine is grand cherokee orvis a 1997 model) are these model all the same from 1992 to 1999 and is there any difference between orvis a and limited as i will buy whole jeep which is sale as scrap so i can use the more parts of it.

in the states zj's were made from 93 to 98 and came with different motors,tranny's,t-cases's,rears....the orvis (95-97 i think) is just a different trim package than the limited with up-country suspension but thats not to say they would have the same driveline...

for their model years you have to add a year, a 98 model which is actually made in 97 here would be a 98 there. So our ZJs were from 93 to 98, in Europe, they were the exact same vehicles but they were badged from 94 to 99.

whats your point? i'm taking his question as "are all models (whatever year to whatever year) the same" component/part wise....no...
