GC transmission slipping
Hi All, new here and need some advice please. I have a 2001 GC with the 3.1 ltr engine (not easy with UK fuel prices), however I have a problem with the transmission which is slipping, I get to 3-4 thousand revs before it changes up the gears. I have changed the filter and put in new transmission oil but the problem remains. Any ideas as to what might be wrong and is it safe to keep using it for local running about or will I make things worse/much mor expensive to fix?
Hope some one can help

Slipping and taking long to shift are 2 diff things... If the Jeep is simply taking a long time to shift it could be the transmission output sensor. I had a problem awhile back where the car would go to the mid 3k rpms before shifting.. Replaced that sensor and it shifts fine now.
