Fuel pump not running?
I bought a 93 ZJ v8 and it ran for a while, ran good. But last week some redneck wiring job from the previous owner got pulled out, I didn't thon and my fuel pump stopped running completely. I replaced the pump, changed out relays and fuses, tested all the circuits, but cannot figure out why. It's giving me a code 12 because I disconnected the battery while I was replacing the pump. It will turn over, but not start. I traced the wires to a mysterious black box under the rear seat and hooked them back to power where they were before my big *** feet yanked them loose. Can anybody offer some advice?

Some photos of what you are describing might help. If what you are explaining is all that happened then it seems simply returning the wiring to the state it was before you pulled it out should get you going again. Otherwise tracing where the wires are coming from and going to is the next steps.

Old fart with a wrench
IDK if this helps, but that mysterious black box under the rear seat in my 97 ZJ was the stereo amplifier. Mine was disconnected and had a huge rats-nest of taped splices that I was afraid to mess with. Only the front speakers worked. The fuel pump wiring does run thru that area.

I can't post a pic because I'm on mobile. But there's 2 boxes. One is about the size or a cigarette pack. And the other is about 8 inches long, 4 inches wide and about a half inch think. It's not like any amp I've ever seen before. But I did hook the wires back up to where they were and it didn't help. All the wires that actually run to the pump are fine, not burned or rubbed to where bare wire is showing. I tried running diagnostics and all it's throwing is a 12 code, which means the PCM was disconnected from power within the last 50 key on cycles. Would that code throw a no start as well? And how would I clear that code?

No need anymore lol. Sold it to a fella that wanted to fix it up himself. Going to get another XJ, since I have one already and know how to work on them.
Thanks for all your help guys.
