Fuel filter housing ZJ
Hello All,
Firstly I'm new to the forum and new to Jeeps too. I feel very stupid to be honest and could do with some serious help. Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.5td 1999, I believe it's a ZJ / ZG? Very stupidly left the ignition switched on just before start/crank position for roughly half an hour whilst looking for something in the garage, turned and saw smoke/steam bellowing out from under the bonnet. On opening the bonnet found the bowl of the fuel filter and fallen out and melted a little. I managed to get it back on however with a small leak after priming it. Is it possible that I have done something worse than just melt the bowl? I plan to replace this tomorrow. She turns over and attempts to start, idles briefly and dies. Am I correct in assuming the death is due to a little air intake or have I just murdered my jeep? Any advise greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but I tried and I can't find any info to help you with your problem on your WJ as it's called. At least that's what it's called here in the States. '99-'04 Grand Cherokee= WJ. Here's a site that usually has the info. >->http://www.wjjeeps.com/
