Default Front Wheel Hub Nut

I'm replacing my front left axle and I've already run into a problem. I'm having trouble loosening the hub nut. What's the best way to tackle this? And I want something legit because I'm sure I could think of a way to loosen it but I'm going to need to tighten it back up when I put the new one in.

36 mm socket and either an air tool or a ratchet. their not hard to gewt off. if it spins on you either put in in 4 whell drive or jam a screw driver between 2 studs.

it should be a 36 mm if i remember correctly. But place a big crowbar or breaker bar between 2 of the wheel nuts and have someone hold it still while you take the nut off.

but an air ratchet works great!

Ok thanks, I'll just have someone press the brakes. We'll see how it goes

Just changed a bearing assembly today. I used a piece of rebar through the U-joint to hold the wheel. It wasn't too bad to get off. The bearing, OTOH, was not easy. It's done though. Also replaced the factory horns with air horns.

Break the nut loose before you jack and pull the wheel.. much easier.

Update. Much easier than I thought it was going to be. I saw this video and was expecting the worst:

I just had my brother press the brakes and jumped on the breakover bar, piece of cake.

Below are some pictures of what I needed to replace, the driver's side axle assembly. My CV joint pretty much exploded and ripped the boot which sprayed grease everywhere.

Ran out of time today and will pull it out and replace it tomorrow. It was a pretty straight forward job, much easier than anticipated for once.

The very bottom picture is the new part.
