front wheel chirp
Hi all -
I'm a new owner of an 98 Grand Cherokee. It has the 5.9 with Quadra-trac. I know thats fulltime but I also think it's supposed to transfer power front to back. When I am in 4H with good traction, and making a sharp turn like into a parking place it feels like it's sending power to the front. Meaning it loads up the driveline and the tires chirp. Is this normal? If not can someone tell me what in the xfer case might be the problem?
Thanks
D

It may be your VC that is going bad on the Tcase.. Maybe someone with personal experience can chime in. But that is what it sounds like to me
Thanks for the input. I'm pretty handy if I know how a system is designed to work. Do the service manuals you can pick up at parts stores give a pretty good discription of the Quadra-trac>?
