friction additive
Just got my 99 GC (4.0 auto / 242 t-case) and wanting to change
out fluids in axles and t-case. If I'm understanding the manual correctly,
I don't need the additives, but would like someone to confirm this, please.
Thanks, Larry
what oils do you use?

So, how can you tell? Just trying to confirm what "I" think I'm reading in the manual.
With mine being the select trac, no modifiers needed? Sorry, this 4WD stuff is new to
this old man.

A quick way to tell is to lift the rear tires in neutral and turn one... if the other turns the same way but slower you have a limited slip.. if it turns the opposite direction its an open carrier.
Or open the rear end up and look at the carrier....
Open carrier on the left.. Trac-Loc(Jeep branded limited slip) on the right
